Brassica and Emperors

Sucker for free stuff

It’s been over a year since I last posted at my defunct expat grad student blog, and I’ve been thinking about getting back into it for quite some time. Attending a day of Northern Voice provided some inspiration, enough to investigate WordPress and create Brassica and Emperors but not enough to really do anything with it. The possibility of a free Pro account on Zooomr for bloggers seems to have tipped the scales. I am devotedly addicted to flickr, but the geotagging functionality at Zooomr seems like it could be fun to play with.

My first Zooomr photo:

Supposedly fun games I’ll have to check out some time

Collected mostly from Matthew Baldwin’s games reviews at defectiveyeti.com and at The Morning News. I wrote down a list before Christmas, then didn’t manage to fit a games store into my shopping time. So that I can recycle the paper:

  • China or Web of Power
  • Cluzzle or Barbarossa
  • Fairy Tale
  • Ingenious or Travel Blockes
  • Settlers of Catan
  • Ticket to Ride
  • Carcassonne
  • Bohnanza
  • Mamma Mia
  • Category 5
  • Hera & Zeus
  • Niagara, Diamant, Ra and For Sale
  • Jambo
  • That’s Life
  • Around the World in 80 Days
